The Fall Annual Book Fair will begin Friday, September 15th and extend through Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, September 21st. Plan ahead for Christmas, get birthday gifts, buy for your favorite teachers, add to your own personal libraries. I must have been looking forward to the Ainsworth game too much on Friday, but I forgot to send the Morgan Plunge update to everyone. Here it goes:Mr. Morgan told me that he is starting to feel confident enough that he may cancel his Amazon order for adult floaties to help with his plunge.
I wasn’t sure what to expect this week in the Morgan Plunge. Mr. Morgan was feeling confident as the eclipse, Demoine Adams’ fantastic speech, and Homecoming activities all combine to make finding reading time a little difficult.
We have survived week 1 of school so I’m going to update you on Mr. Morgan’s Reading Plunge. As of an hour ago, students have 343 of the 3,500 points needed to force Mr.
I skipped week nine’s progress so students could be surprised with the grand total. Remember, there are different number of students in various classes and many of the elementary classes are just starting AR, so breaking down the points by class is more to help teachers if they have a specific class goal.School (Drum roll please): 3,503.2…more than 1,000 points above the goal. Oh man, I thought the goal was made, but not quite. First of all though, the high schoolers are jealous of the 5th grade being able to go home and read after school while they still have practice, work, and homework left. I think they’re remembering the glory days.
Week 6’s Update: Ok…I’m not doing so well on my math, but the students are rocking their reading points. If you look at 9th grade, it’s lower than last week. That must be my math.
Week 5’s Update: After a slow week 4, students have really kicked the reading in gear in week 5. Mr. Morgan was putting up his camping gear, but he may want to wait a little while.
The Arnold School library will once again host the book fair from September 20th to the 27th. The books will be set up in the elementary hallway outside of the big gym. There are books for students of all ages.
