“A speech is poetry: cadence, rhythm, imagery, sweep! A speech reminds us that words, like children, have the power to make dance the dullest beanbag of a heart.”
— Peggy Noonan
APS Speech
By participating in Speech, students grow in confidence and in the ability to effectively communicate with the public. Building upon speaking skills introduced to students in Freshman Speech class, students may choose to grow and develop as speakers by participating competitively in Speech Meets during the Winter and Spring months. Each competitive season culminates with the State Speech Meet held at UNK in March.
