Para-Educators – Positively Priceless!
Esther Ryan is another rare gem that works with students of all ages and has been with the school for about 5 ½ years. She began each day in the Kindergarten room for their reading block – and they LOVED her! She would take one group, while Ms. Buoy was teaching the other. She helped oversee stations and provided some extra small-group or 1-1 learning that students needed. What a key piece she was in the great start our Kindergarten students had in reading!
Most of Miss Esther’s day was spent working with resource students either in the classroom or in a pull-out setting. She helped with reading, math, writing, Language, English, social skills, P.E. activities, and more. Miss Esther was a motivator and she liked to help students believe in themselves. If a student wasn’t getting a skill, she would find a new way to show them. Hands-on projects were here forte’. She was often asked to create learning posters, items on the computer, or even [for the summer reading program] a gorilla.
Miss Esther could brighten the day of most any student and she brought a lot of life and fun to our staff. She has often worked with some of our most challenging students behaviorally and she has proven invaluable in providing a safe and fun environment that has enabled those students to learn and have success. Please let her know how much you appreciate her efforts to help make Arnold the best school around! Thanks! Renee Bubak
