Special Meeting Minutes
Present: Duane Bowers, Eric Nelson, Diana Coleman, Joe Cool, Shane Cool, Merle Bierman, Mark Sievering, Michelle Preston, and Joel Morgan.
Absent:
A Meeting of the Board of Education of the School District of Arnold, in the County of
Custer, in the State of Nebraska School District No. 89 of Custer County, Nebraska, was convened in open and Public Session at 8:00 P.M. on the 25th day of March, 2020, at Arnold Public School Commons area, in said District. Notice of the Meeting was given in advance thereof according to Law by Proper Publication, a designated method for giving notice to the School District, A copy of the Proof of Publication being attached to these minutes. Notice of this meeting was given in advance to all members of the Board of Education. Availability of the Agenda and the Purpose of the meeting was communicated in the advanced notice of the meeting to the members of this meeting.
Board of Education met in emergency session Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at 7:30 P.M. with six members present. Eric Nelson, Diana Coleman, and Merle Bierman were present via teleconference.

ACTION ITEMS
Motion Nelson seconded J. Coleman to approve Emergency Response Resolution. Unanimous on roll call vote.
Motion J. Cool, seconded Coleman to approve extending the school closure date to April 17, 2020, with reevaluation at the regular board meeting April 14, 2020. Unanimous on roll call vote
Motion J. Cool, seconded S. Cool to approve the purchase and installation of four security cameras from Hinton’s Lock & Alarm. Unanimous on roll call vote.
Motion S. Cool, seconded Nelson to approve modification of certificated employment plan to follow Commissioner of Education’s recommendation to allow certificated staff the option of working from home during closure. Unanimous on roll call.
Motion S. Cool, seconded Coleman to approve modification of classified employment plan to offer Return to Work agreement to hourly classified staff at a rate of 100%. Motion carried 4 to 1 on roll call vote.
Motion J. Cool, seconded Nelson to approve administrative employment plan during closure to include a flexible schedule while fulfilling regular administrative duties. Unanimous on roll call vote.
Motion S. Cool, seconded Bierman to approve modification of food service plan during closure or until May 20, 2020, to provide school meals free of charge for all district children up to age 18. Unanimous on roll call vote.
